Physics students at the University of Leicester (UK), figuring out the radius of the ball, the distance to the gate and the density of air, derived the exact formula of the ideal free-kick guaranteeing a 100% goal.
They decided to test their theory in practice during the traditional Big Bang fair, in which young British scientists participate. Riva Kesli, a member of England’s youth national football team, tested and tested the “perfect” kick on the ball.
